PledPharma AB was founded in 2006 and has been listed on Nasdaq Stockholm’s main market since October 31, 2019.
On November 3, 2020, the Company acquired Rare Thyroid Therapeutics International AB (RTT), forming Egetis Therapeutics AB. RTT contributed deep expertise in thyroid hormone biology and the development of Emcitate® (tiratricol) for the treatment of MCT8 deficiency.
Building on decades of scientific research into thyroid hormone transporter disorders, Egetis has evolved into a focused rare disease company with capabilities spanning late-stage orphan drug development, regulatory affairs and commercialization.
Key milestones include the European approval of Emcitate® for peripheral thyrotoxicosis in patients with MCT8 deficiency, as well as the U.S approval for the treatment of peripheral thyrotoxicosis in adults and pediatric patients with MCT8 deficiency on September 28, 2026.
